Newton Farm Fisheries - Season: Open all year

Fishery description: A 5 acre spring fed clear water loch situated on the edge of a farm in a quiet, peaceful habitat. Bank fishery, landscaped to allow free rising trout. Depth under 10 feet.

Species stocked: Rainbow and brown trout, stocked weekly.

Fishery record: 17lb rainbow, 4lb brown.

Recommended flies: Damsel Nymph, Mini Lures and Hares Ears.

Travel time: 45 minutes.

The South Esk - Season: April to October

Description: A 3 mile stretch of river situated above the Queen Mother's beat, very peaceful with panoramic views.

Species: Atlantic Salmon

Club record: 36lb salmon

Recommended tackle: Fly and spinning rod, preferred lure the Flying C.

Travel time: 2 hours.

This is becoming one of the most popular events in Britain. With 50 clays for £35 this is a truly worthwhile day out. Go along and test your skill to see how quick your reactions are.

4 x 4 Off-Road Driving

Take this opportunity to sharpen your off-road rally skills. Newton Hills have an off-road course where you and your friends can test your driving skills. The all-terrain vehicle is specially designed for the roughest of drives.

At Newton Hills, one of the most popular and fun events is Quad Biking. A small 4x4 all terrain vehicle designed speedily to scramble the hills and gullies of the farm. This is priced very competitively, you can't afford to miss out. A spare set of clothes is advisable.
